Who authenticates the autographs at J&J’s?

We work with all the reputable authentication companies rather than tying ourselves to one, because it depends on where the item was signed. The authenticator is named on each product page, and the ones you will see most often are listed here.

How do I verify a hologram number?

Each item carries a numbered tamper-evident hologram. Enter that number on the authenticator's own lookup site and it returns the item's record, independently of us.

What happens if a hologram does not verify?

You should not have to take our word for it

The autograph market has a forgery problem, and every honest dealer in it lives with the consequences. Our answer is that we do not ask anyone to trust us. Each signed item carries a numbered, tamper-evident hologram from a third-party authenticator, and that number resolves in the authenticator’s own database, not ours.

Most of what we sell is signed in front of us at official signings we host, which is the strongest provenance there is: the authenticator watched the pen touch the item.

Who authenticates what

We are not tied to one authentication company. We work with all the reputable ones, and which of them signs off on a given piece depends on where it was signed. The names below are the ones you will come across most often on our shelves rather than the limit of who we deal with, and the authenticator for any particular item is named on its own page.

JSA: James Spence Authentication. Numbered hologram matched to their database. The most common on our signed items.
Beckett: Beckett Authentication Services, with a tamper-evident sticker and an online lookup.
MLB Authentication: Major League Baseball’s own programme. A tamper-evident hologram applied by an authenticator working for the league, often at the ballpark. As close to unimpeachable as provenance gets.
MAB: MAB Celebrity Services, numbered hologram from their signing events.
PIA: Numbered hologram issued at the signing.
PSA: Professional Sports Authenticator, used mainly on graded trading cards.
Steiner: Steiner Sports, long-standing in team and player memorabilia.
Schwartz: Schwartz Sports Memorabilia, numbered hologram with an online lookup.
Fanatics: Fanatics Authentic, applied at league-sanctioned signings.
TRISTAR: TRISTAR Productions, numbered hologram from their signing events.
Radtke: Radtke Sports, numbered hologram from their signings.
